The worsening situation of pollution in Lahore!

Pakistan's second largest city and Punjab's capital Lahore was ranked in ten of the most polluted cities of the world during the 2009-2013/2014 time period but since 2015 the pollution in Lahore has decreased. In 2016 Lahore was ranked 58th in the list of most polluted cities in the world so the pollution has decreased a lot. But even then the rate of pollution is gradually increasing in the city of Lahore. The increasing number of vehicles such as rickshaws, commercialization and the establishment of various industrial units has contributed towards the alarming rate of pollution in the eastern city of Lahore.                                                         Add caption The open burning of coal releases harmful gases in the atmosphere such as Sulfur dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen Oxide (NO2). SO2 forms small acidic particles which can enter the lungs and can be absorbed by the bloodstream easily, SO2 also causes acid rain which is a big threat to the marine life as it

15 Reasons Why Lahore is the worst city in Pakistan!

Lahore is called the ‘heart’ of Pakistan. Are you kidding me? Heart of Pakistan? It does not deserve to be called the heart of the country as it is the worst city and the worst place in Pakistan. Here are 15 reasons  why Lahore is the absolute worst place in Pakistan.

Vampires: A brief history!

The concept of people coming back from the dead is quite common in various cultures, vampires also rise back from the dead but not as normal human beings, they come with an unusual hunger for blood. Their history is as old as 11-century B.C, the general view of vampires in the eyes of people is that they are blood-sucking monsters and demons, ancient tales also depict vampires as monsters and murderers but the modern day movies and television shows depict vampires not as monsters who kill anyone coming in their way, but as normal people who don’t wreak havoc wherever they set foot (The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Twilight Series). They don’t reveal their identities to their human friends and acquaintances because who would want to be friends with creatures who drain people out of blood? Vampires die when they are exposed to sunlight, garlic was also used in ancient times to get rid of vampires. In many ancient cultures vampires were just demon spirits who left their bodie

Edhi: The Angel disguised as a human!

When I received the news of Edhi’s demise, I was devastated, I couldn’t believe it. The ‘Angel of Mercy’ was dead; it would take a lifetime to witness a man like him, so kind, so gentle, and so desperate to care for the well-being of others. He belonged to that tiny fraction of people in this world who are so hell-bent on keeping humanity alive through their actions. Abdul Sattar Edhi rendered his services to the poor and the needy almost his entire life, he was the manifestation of love for helpless people, he founded the Edhi Foundation nearly sixty years ago when he was a young boy and since then he is providing assistance to all the impoverished and poor of not only this nation but citizens of other nations as well. I think that now instead of mourning Edhi we should celebrate his life, we should praise him for his desire to love others unconditionally, we should cherish him for providing shelter and acting as a fatherly figure for every single person regardless of their

Qandeel Baloch, the Pakistani Kim Kardashian is dead, RIP!

Qandeel Baloch, 26, the famous or the notorious Pakistani social media celebrity was  strangled to death by her own brother; yes by her own brother in HONOUR KILLING. Her brother thought of her as a ‘disgrace’ to their family due to her controversial videos which went viral on social media. Alas a thing like ‘honor killing’ still exists in this modern 21st century world. Me like every other person who knew this lady was shocked at her sudden demise, I myself found her quite annoying but I still used to laugh the guts out at her videos and I didn’t imagine that she would turn up dead all of a sudden even though it was kind of predictable, given the society we live in. What still baffles me is that she was mercilessly killed by her own brother. Then if not her brother then some other lunatic must have killed her, I mean a person like her couldn’t have survived here. A question popped in my mind following her death that why don’t we kill those sick minded men in the name of ‘honor’

Are we really so different?

If there are any two nations in the world sharing common interests, its India and Pakistan. The relationship of Pakistan and India has been considered ‘complicated’ due to various political and historical events. These countries were once united but were separated in 1947 and the new nation of Pakistan occupied its place on the world map. Since then the two nations have fought three wars and have been involved in military standoffs. The general populace of both the countries possess hatred and contempt towards each other. According to a 2014 ‘BBC World Service Poll’ 17% of Indians view Pakistan positively while 49% view Pakistan negatively. While on the other hand 21% of Pakistanis express positivity towards India and the remaining 58% express negativity towards India. The bitterness towards each other can be seen clearly.  While we have developed immense hatred regarding each other, we don’t realize that we share similar interests, goals and passions. We are like a married
